diving in the galapagos islands

2 dives per day packages can be found through some of the galapagos dive centres but nell and i have been talking about trying to do a live a board trip while we are there.

we have around 2 weeks.

an 8 day live a board is USD$1200 - ish. 7 days, 8 nights and 12 dives.

8 days with two visits on the islands is USD$1280.00

i think that 8 days will be a bit long for me. i would definitely get cabin fever.
also, the only currency in ecuador is u.s dollars. it will depend on what the exchange rate is doing as to whether the trip is worth it or not - almost as much as how good the weather is!

current exchange rate USD$1199.00 = NZD$1630.82

and as much as i like diving, that all equates to overkill in terms of my like.

a 4 day live a board is USD$ .. hmm - havent got a price for that one yet.

doing daily dives might be an option - its about USD$100.00 per day and equipment rental about USD$45.00 = NZD$197.22

when we land on the islands, we have to pay a $100.00 cash national park admission.
