less mayhem, more international ... please

righto. so i have been stuck at home. and its winter. and we have had massive storms (the last one was the size of australia and it stuck itself over new zealand over the weekend - which is quite typical). so i am blue and not just from the cold.
alright, yes i went to adelaide. and it was okay. looked really nice - at least the 25 steps between my hotel and the office did.

and now for the point of this post.
SARDINIA!

mom and i, and a few hangers on, are going to get our pre-wedding tans on the beaches of sardinia, italy for a couple of weeks in august next year whilst we dodge my brother ewis preparations and leave him to deal with the stress. (well actually mom tells me now that it could be spain - menorca even)

so whilst we wait for nell to tell us of her exploits on/in the red sea, i'm going to tell you my initial plans for this 3 weeks in food and beach heaven.
arriving about the 12-13 august 2009, there will be about 2 weeks of this ....


which is perfect! as mom wants this .... for modelling her new (fashionable??) tankini on the white sand beaches

and i want this ... for diving and swimming and diving

oh! they look the same? just as well.
otherwise me amd mom on holiday together for 2 weeks. someones going to be consuming a lot of cocktails. rather someone plural!

Even the IWM get older

So I had another birthday at the end of May - no, I will not tell you how old I am.

I took the day off work and went to watch a movie and have lunch with my dad. That night, my friend Pia, her husband and two friends of ours, Bernie and Deon, went out to dinner, and a merry time was had by all.
I thought that was it.

On the Saturday night I wend to Pia and Nic's house re-warming braai.

Surprise!

And boy was it.
I have never had a surprise party before, it made me extremely happy.

Pia even spent the entire night before making me a birthday diving cake.

so kevin costner right now

i'm not sure if i have mentioned this before but back when nell and i were in fiji in october 2006 - we had movie night around the pool and the movie was "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves".
we were drinking and laughing and being complete munters - and the saying started "youre so/thats so kevin costner right now" basically meaning ... how gay!!
so nell are i are walking through cordoba in argentina and we spied this in the window .......
